St Donat’s Castle
What a wonderful day in Wales at St Donat’s Castle near Cardiff. Fantastic venue with the back drop of the sea. Well kept grounds with upper and lower lawns.
Set up the Crazy golf on the upper lawn so as soon as the bride and groom come out of the castle it is there to play, which they certainly did. In fact we had a bit of a golf competition with all the guest, with some really good rounds being played.
A lot of guests got close to the course record with 18 and 19 shots. But be leave it or not, the best score was 17. Scored by the bride herself with no cheating as I was doing the scoring. Brilliant end to a great day.

Visit St Donat’s Castle
Located on the beautiful South Wales coastline, St Donat’s Castle is the perfect venue for your special day and is just a 40 minute drive from central Cardiff. The castle stands a tale of history set amongst some of the most colourful gardens and sea views; a perfect wedding backdrop.
The castle, owned by UWC Atlantic College is available outside of the college seasons. For weddings between the end of May and the end of September each year. To ensure exclusivity, we only take one wedding per day. With the romantic castle and gardens hired on a midday to midnight basis for you and your guests.
Hiring the castle for your special day includes use of the Bradenstoke Hall, Rose, Blue and Beast gardens, Top Lawn (with sea views), Inner Courtyard, Great Hall and a designated changing room on the day of the wedding. The Bradenstoke Hall can accommodate 170 guests for a wedding breakfast and 200 guests for an evening party. In addition to the castle rooms there is also space in the extensive grounds for a marquee seating up to 400.
If you wish to get married at St Donat’s Castle, several of its rooms and gardens are licensed for wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships including the inner courtyard which is a popular area for outdoor ceremonies and drink receptions. Onsite is also the charming St Donat’s Church which can accommodate a wedding ceremony for up to 110 guests.
